Project Description:
Springhill Suites by Marriott is a 104 room hotel located on Valley Mall Road near Hagerstown, Maryland.
The Fox Hagerstown team provided all survey, planning and engineering services for construction of Springhill Suites by Marriott. We provided close coordination with the developer and the architectural design team , the traffic engineers, and Washington County, Maryland staff throughout the design and construction. This project also required close correspondence with the development of the Courtyard Hotel and Stonewall Tavern sites immediately adjacent to Springhill Suites.
Site Considerations:
- Coordination with Washington County and the traffic engineer for design and county approval of a traffic signal at the intersection of Valley Mail Road and Underpass Way.
- Processing of plans through Washington County Division of Plan Review and Permitting as well as the following review agencies: Washington County Health Department, Washington County Division of Environmental Management, City of Hagerstown Water Department, and the Natural Resource Conservation Services (NRCS).
- Obtaining review and approval from Washington County, the MD State Highway Administration, and the Federal Highway Administration for the construction of a 90′ high free-standing message board sign.
- Special design considerations included design of a 12″ water main from underpass way to the site to enhance water service redundancy in the Valley Mall area.
