Location: Hagerstown, Maryland
Project Description:
Rider Jet Center is a 25,500 S.F. expansion of the existing Hangar and Aircraft Maintenance Facility. The expansion provides 19,500 S.F of office space for Rider’s Fixed Base Operations and a 6,000 restaurant and lounge for airport users and the general public. The Fox Hagerstown team provided all survey, planning and engineering design services for construction of Rider Jet Center. We incorporated coordination with the developer and the architectural design team , the traffic engineers, and Washington County, Maryland staff throughout the design and construction. This project also required close correspondence with Mr. David Rider and airport officials.
Site Considerations:
- Coordination with airport officials and the Maryland State Highway Administration to obtain plan approval.
- Site design was also subject to FAA regulations due the proximity of Hagerstown Regional Airport (HGR); particularly the review of direct aircraft access and airspace restrictions for Runway 2/20.
- Processing of plans through Washington County Division of Plan Review and Permitting as well as the following review agencies: Washington County Health Department, Washington County Division of Environmental Management, City of Hagerstown Water Department, and the Natural Resource Conservation Services (NRCS).
