As part of the Frederick Municipal Airport master plan, the City acquired numerous properties in order to extend the runway and provide several other new airport facilities as well as to expand the runway protection zone. As a result of this the need arose to combine these numerous properties into one airport parcel.
As a member of the URS Corp. team Fox & Associates, Inc. was the chosen as a sub-consultant to prepare the consolidation plat for the Frederick Municipal Airport. The City of Frederick request that the plat be prepared in order to consolidate the parcels owned by the City for aviation and wastewater treatment and to delineate this property into tracts by usage.
The total project included fifty properties totaling over 656 acres. It included 4.5 acres of roadway dedication as well as 2 acres of roadway abandonment. Fox provided field surveys to locate property corners and property line evidence, performed courthouse deed research and preparation of a deed composite showing the subject property and surrounding properties. Final plats were then prepared for review and approval by the City and recordation.
