Civil Engineering Designer
Current openings for Civil Engineering Designer to join our Fredrick or Hagerstown, Maryland teams to work on a verity of projects for clients within the commercial and private development areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for a well rounded talented individual, to join a well organized, highly skilled, and well established team of professionals.
Civil Engineering Designers are involved with the preparation of site civil design plans, drafting, and various engineering calculations. The successful candidate will work on a variety of assignments involving engineering for infrastructure design of water, sanitary sewer, storm drain, and stormwater management systems, site grading, roadway and site paving, and sediment and erosion control. Other work will involve the preparation of drawings and specifications for civil works projects for public and private clients.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Knowledge of various computer software including spreadsheets, word processing, and scheduling software.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Carlson Civil Suite, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and other engineering software applications is helpful.
- Knowledge of Federal, local, and industry engineering codes and standards.
- Knowledge of civil engineering concepts and principles. Skill in applying civil engineering practices and principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering or a related degree.
- Zero to two years of experience as this is an Entry Level Position.
- AutoCAD experience.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification preferred, but not required.
- Experience in all aspects of site development, water distribution and sewer collection systems design, parking lots and roads, stormwater management, grading, erosion and sediment control, from initial project planning through the construction phase.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Self-starter who can work independently and with a team.

Licensed Land Surveyor – Pennsylvania
Current openings for Licensed Land Surveyor to join our Greencastle, Pennsylvania team to work on a variety of projects for clients within the commercial and private development sector. Qualifications

Field Crew Chiefs- Maryland & Pennsylvania

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification or degree in surveying or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Proven experience as a Survey Party Chief or similar role.
- Experience performing field boundary, topographic, land title surveys, and construction staking.
- Be responsive and able to perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment.
- Well-developed understanding of field survey methods and calculations.
- Ability to operate Topcon and Carlson GPS equipment., Leica and Sokkia robotic survey instruments, and other relative survey equipment.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Carlson, and related software.
- Excellent cooperative skills and working efficiently with a team.
- Strong skills in communication, time management, organization, and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Responsibilities
- Travel to and from job sites.
- Conduct field surveys, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, and control network establishment either individually or with a team.
- Set up and operate surveying instruments to measure distances, angles, elevations, and contours.
- Ensure accurate collection and recording of field survey data using various surveying equipment and technologies, such as total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors.
- Prepare and review survey reports, maps, and drawings to present survey findings to project manager.
- Maintain survey equipment and ensure it is in proper working condition by conducting regular inspections and calibrations.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations while performing surveying tasks to ensure the well-being of the survey team and other workers on-site.
- Maintain accurate and organized survey records, including field notes, sketches, and data files, for future reference and project documentation.
- Stay updated with the latest surveying techniques, technologies, and industry best practices to continuously improve surveying processes.

Civil CADD Technician
Current openings for Civil CADD Technicians with experience in all aspects of Land Development projects for our Hagerstown, Maryland team.
Candidates will support our land surveyors and engineers and should have 3+ years of experience in all aspects of land development drafting.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the development of drawings, details, surveys, and plats under the supervision of a professional. Typical projects include roadways, utilities (water, sewer, storm drain), stormwater management facilities, grading and sediment and erosion control design, for both residential and commercial projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD required, and knowledge of Carlson Civil is helpful.
