Campus Master Planning / Institutional Facility
Central County High School
Location: Ballenger Creek Pike
Frederick Co., MD
Size: 47.0 Acres
Project Description:
- Provide the necessary planning, survey, civil, and landscape architecture services to permit a 212,000 sf., 2-story public high school with associated parking and athletic areas
- Complete campus site and improvement plan design including building orientation, parking, athletic fields, stadium, ball fields, stormwater management facility and field irrigation
- Attended and secured approval from the County Planning Commission
- 408 parking spaces: 140 staff/visitors, 242 students, & 26-bus loading area
- Special Site / Design Considerations:
- Successful coordination with roadway engineering consultant relocating Ballenger Creek Pike
- Design accommodated joint use of ingress/egress for school and neighboring property
- Extensive campus landscape design; headlight glare screening and berming for abutting residents
